Sara Haake became the new director of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s dispatch center, and within the year made upgrading the facility a priority. Dispatchers in the center were fielding around 1,500 calls a month, with even more coming in during football season when Lincoln transforms into the third-largest city in the state.
To maximize the potential of the center, the 15-year-old desks needed to be replaced, which would subsequently tackle issues related to accessibility, IT management, and dispatcher comfort and capacity. Haake brought in Prodigy Consoles to address these matters!
We traveled to Lincoln, Nebraska, and installed five of our Prodigy 76 Consoles. These consoles were customized with controlled comfort systems and adjustment capabilities of desk height and computer depth to meet the unique needs of UNLPD’s dispatch center. The desk adjustment capabilities make the facility more accessible for all dispatchers, including those in wheelchairs, while the comfort systems control temperature and improve dispatcher well-being.
