New Jersey Transit is the public corporation responsible for providing safe, reliable, and affordable transportation for the state of New Jersey. As the nation’s third largest provider of bus, rail, and light rail transit, NJT provides nearly 270 million passenger trips each year and links to major points in New York and Pennsylvania. Their Bus Operations division is responsible for more than 3500 buses and 253 routes and is vital to the economic and social well-being of the state.
In 2022, we traveled to Maplewood, NJ to outfit New Jersey Transit’s (NJT) new Bus Operations communications center with our advanced ergonomic furniture and custom control consoles, aiming to improve the efficiency and comfort within NJT’s work environment. We installed 22 of our Prodigy 86 Consoles, 8 of our Prodigy standalone cubicles, and a large technical conference room table.
NJ Transit employs a system called Lytx DriveCam Event Recorder, in which safety hazards can be proactively addressed through onboard cameras, data collection, and assessments. Our Prodigy furniture sets up a comfortable environment for communications officers, so they can focus on protecting riders for extended periods of time!
