Northside Generating Station (NGS) is located in northern Jacksonville, an environmentally sensitive area surrounded by wetlands. The plant uses natural gas, fuel oil, coal, and petroleum in large steam units and small diesel-powered peaking units to produce more than 1300MW of peak electric capacity.
